Bev opened Soothing Sessions Massage in December of 2000 because of her passion for helping people through the use of therapeutic massage. She specializes in Integrative Therapeutic Massage and Massage Cupping. The experience she brings to the table is felt once you walk through the door. Whether it’s Deep Tissue, Swedish, Cupping, etc., Bev works with her clients to tailor each session based on their needs. It’s not a quick hello, here’s the table, see you in a minute entrance to Bev’s sessions, it’s a conversation about what’s going on with you and how can we make it better together. She has been told by many that she has “The Magic Hands” and wonderful energy.
Bev graduated in 2000 Mt. Nittany School of Massage in State College, PA and continues learning new techniques with her participation in continuing education programs. The latest class she is trained in is Oncology Massage. She is a Board Certified Massage Therapist and a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) and American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Bev also is Past President and member of Lexington Network of Female Executives (LNFE) and a member of The Lexington Chamber of Commerce.
On a personal note there isn’t a beach that Bev has met that she doesn’t enjoy. Sunshine and sand are a favorite past- time…St. Maarten anyone?
Mari is originally from Connecticut and moved down South in 1989. She has been working as a massage therapist for the past 12 years. Mari attended South Carolina Massage and Esthetician School in Columbia, SC. Mari specializes in deep tissue and trigger work. She feels truly blessed to be working in a profession that gives back so much to people's overall health and well being. She has three boys, one a junior at Clemson and twins, juniors at River Bluff High School. In her free time she enjoys working out.
Emily has moved here from Pennsylvania and enjoys the warmer weather. She attended Pittsburgh Technical Institute where she received her certificate in Massage Therapy October 2013. Emily specializes in Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Therapy. She loves helping people and improving their quality of life through her work. She has known massage was her calling since the age of 12, as she would give her classmates mini massages. She enjoys yoga, sunshine & spending time with her 2 dogs and tabby cat.
Born and raised in Western NY, Karen moved to South Carolina after graduating high school. She attended Midlands Tech College and pursued a career in HR/Payroll management. She also has her Real Estate license in SC. Karen has 2 children who she is very proud of and a grand daughter that she adores! She also enjoys the island life and the mountains in her free time. Karen started working at Soothing Sessions in April 2018 as an assistant manager.
Gilbert, SC is home for Amy. After graduating from Gilbert High School, Amy went on to pursue further education at Midlands Technical College. She received her associate's degree in Public Service and her Paralegal certification.
Amy has been with Soothing Sessions since June 2017 as a part-time receptionist. She enjoys meeting new people and ensuring that the clients at Soothing Sessions have a pleasant experience.
Amy is happiest when she's at home spending quality time with her husband and their two sons. She also enjoys amateur paint classes and visiting with family in Tennessee.
Ashley is 30 years young and is a loving mother to 4 thriving children.She has been in the massage therapy industry for 5 years and received her therapist license at Midlands Technical College. She specializes in Himalayan Salt Stone Massage. She loves the massage profession because she enjoys helping people feel better mentally and physically.
Sarah was born in Germany but lived in Red Bank, SC most of her life. Ever since she was small she liked helping people through their problems because no-one should feel like they are in this world alone. Sarah graduated White Knoll High School in 2019. She is going to Midlands Technical College to get an associates degree in Human Services and planning on getting her bachelors degree. Sarah loves to converse with new people. Music is her life, she loves marvel movies,going on random adventures and drawing.
Kristen is a native South Carolinan and glad to be home again. She lived in Florida, Georgia, Texas, Connecticut, but mostly in Boulder, Colorado, where she studied massage therapy at the Bolulder College of Massage Therapy, graduating with honors in 2004. Kristen knows and practices a wide variety of modalities. However, my specialties are sports and orthopedic massage as well as working with victims of trauma and PTSD, most notably soldiers and veterans. She has worked with cyclists, runners, snow skiers, golfers, equestrians, swimmers, soccer and tennis players. In addion to massage therapy, Kristen has a Masters in Education and worked in the public school system for over a dozen years, recently retired. She sings professionally, plays the piano. Also a little guitar, paints, draws, crochets, gardens, reads, cooks, plays tennis reguarly, does yoga, hikes and runs-I guess she could say she's never bored. She also love to write and has a few published articles. Her goal is to write a novel. She loves massage therapy and enjoys helping others find and maintain wellness.
Sharon has been doing massage since 2016 and received her license from Southeastern Institute. She is from Williamston, NC and moved to Columbia in 2013. Sharon enjoys doing arts & crafty things and enjoys anything music related. Her massage style is a mixture of deep tissue and theraputic while being soothing & relaxing. She got into massage from a young age when she would give her Mom a massage to help with fibromyalgia pain. Sharon really enjoys working with fibromyalgia clients.
Lisa has been a licensed massage therapist for 7 years with active practice for the last 5 years. She graduated from FLSM in Ithaca, NY in 2013. She loves all modalites of massage but tends to fluxuate between relaxing massage and trigger point therapy. In Lisa's spare time she loves to read and spend time with her family.
