Bev ( Retired therapist, but still running the business) opened Soothing Sessions Massage in December of 2000 because of her passion for helping people through the use of therapeutic massage. She specializes in Integrative Therapeutic Massage and Massage Cupping. The experience she brings to the table is felt once you walk through the door. Whether it’s Deep Tissue, Swedish, Cupping, etc., Bev works with her clients to tailor each session based on their needs. It’s not a quick hello, here’s the table, see you in a minute entrance to Bev’s sessions, it’s a conversation about what’s going on with you and how can we make it better together. She has been told by many that she has “The Magic Hands” and wonderful energy.
Bev graduated in 2000 Mt. Nittany School of Massage in State College, PA and continues learning new techniques with her participation in continuing education programs. The latest class she is trained in is Oncology Massage. She is a Board Certified Massage Therapist and a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) and American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Bev also is Past President and member of Lexington Network of Female Executives (LNFE) and a member of The Lexington Chamber of Commerce.
On a personal note there isn’t a beach that Bev has met that she doesn’t enjoy. Sunshine and sand are a favorite past- time…St. Maarten anyone?
Emily(Soon to be the new owner as Bev retires!) has moved here from Pennsylvania and enjoys the warmer weather. She attended Pittsburgh Technical Institute where she received her certificate in Massage Therapy October 2013. Emily specializes in Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Therapy. She loves helping people and improving their quality of life through her work. She has known massage was her calling since the age of 12, as she would give her classmates mini massages. She enjoys yoga, sunshine & spending time with her 2 dogs and tabby cat.
Mari is originally from Connecticut and moved down South in 1989. She has been working as a massage therapist for the past 12 years. Mari attended South Carolina Massage and Esthetician School in Columbia, SC. Mari specializes in deep tissue and trigger work. She feels truly blessed to be working in a profession that gives back so much to people's overall health and well being. She has three boys, one a junior at Clemson and twins, juniors at River Bluff High School. In her free time she enjoys working out.
Ashley is a loving mother to 4 thriving children.She has been in the massage therapy industry for 7 years and received her therapist license at Midlands Technical College. She specializes in Himalayan Salt Stone Massage. She loves the massage profession because she enjoys helping people feel better mentally and physically.
Faith has lived most of her life in Lexington and went to school for massage therapy at MIdlands Technical College. She continued working for a veterinary clinic as she loves animals, however she has decided to go full time with her massage therapy. She loves the calm that the job brings and is happy to offer everyone she works with a wonderful relaxing massage.
Born and raised in the capital of Brazil. Vanessa graduated with a B.S in Occupational Therapy at the University of Brasilia. However, she decided to branch away by moving to Columbia, SC in 2017 and pursue even bigger opportunities. Since then her life has been full of new challenges: learning a new language, new culture, being away from family and firnds and building a new career. She switched career paths in order to help others in a new and different manner. Vanessa went back to school and graduated in Clinical Massage Therapy at Midlands Technical College. She got her license and specializes in Lymphatic Drainage with a unique Brazilian technique.
Sam is a 2012 graduate of The National Academy of Massage Therapy in Pennsylvania. His professional training includes Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, Myofascial Release, Table Thai Yoga, and Sports Massage. From 1990-to 1994 he worked as a trainer in a sports medicine clinic while attending a local community college.
After a life-changing neck injury in 1995, which halted his healthy, active lifestyle, he began a rigorous regimen of anti-inflammatory and pain medications with minimal relief, leaving him feeling hopeless and depressed.
It was through his persistence to get back to his previous, healthy, active lifestyle that Sam gained an understanding and appreciation for healing methods that offered an alternative to surgery and avoided a lifelong regimen of pain medication which included chiropractic medicine and massage therapy.
Born and raised in Western NY, Karen moved to South Carolina after graduating high school. She attended Midlands Tech College and pursued a career in HR/Payroll management. She also has her Real Estate license in SC. Karen has 2 children who she is very proud of and a grand daughter that she adores! She also enjoys the island life and the mountains in her free time. Karen started working at Soothing Sessions in April 2018 as an assistant manager.
Gilbert, SC is home for Amy. After graduating from Gilbert High School, Amy went on to pursue further education at Midlands Technical College. She received her associate's degree in Public Service and her Paralegal certification.Amy has been with Soothing Sessions since June 2017 as a part-time receptionist. She enjoys meeting new people and ensuring that the clients at Soothing Sessions have a pleasant experience.Amy is happiest when she's at home spending quality time with her husband and their two sons. She also enjoys amateur paint classes and visiting with family in Tennessee.
